chronic pain in our feline patients

Senior cats are especially vulnerable to chronic painful conditions, yet their subtle behaviours and coping strategies can make identification challenging for both carers and clinicians.

This practical, case-based masterclass provides veterinary professionals with the tools to recognise, assess, and manage chronic pain in older cats.

Across four sessions, we explore age-related health and behavioural changes, strategies to improve compliance and reduce stress during consultations, and approaches to diagnosing musculoskeletal pain while differentiating other causes of behavioural changes. We also cover practical management strategies, including environmental modifications, nutritional support, and analgesic therapies, to improve comfort and wellbeing.

Designed for clinicians seeking to enhance their recognition, assessment, and management of chronic pain in senior cats, while supporting caregivers and improving patient outcomes.

psychopharmacology

Clinical behaviour cases are often complex, multifactorial, and frequently influenced by underlying pain or discomfort. This practical, case-based masterclass explores how to confidently recognise, assess, and manage these challenging presentations.

Across four weeks, we examine real clinical cases to explore assessment strategies, treatment approaches, monitoring, and follow-up. Particular focus is given to identifying potential pain contributors — including musculoskeletal, neuropathic, visceral, dermatological, and other sources of discomfort — and understanding how physiological and pathophysiological processes shape behaviour.

Using the structured “7 Ms” framework, participants gain a practical, adaptable approach to ensure cases are evaluated from multiple clinical perspectives.

Designed for clinicians seeking to refine their clinical reasoning, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and improve welfare outcomes in complex behaviour patients.

start date: 26th may 2026

Intra-articular approaches to oa management in dogs

Canine osteoarthritis is a complex, whole-body disease requiring thoughtful, individualised management. Intra-articular therapies offer a valuable opportunity to directly influence joint pathology and pain — when applied with clear clinical reasoning.

This practical, evidence-based masterclass provides veterinary professionals with the skills to understand OA pathogenesis, identify appropriate candidates, and confidently integrate joint-specific treatments within a multimodal management plan.

Through real clinical cases, we explore evidence-based decision-making, treatment selection, navigating challenging joints, recognising response, and adapting strategies based on outcomes.

Designed for clinicians looking to refine their OA management, improve patient comfort, and expand their clinical toolkit with science-supported, clinically relevant knowledge.
