presentation overview

Diagnosing a chronic disease at a young age can be terrifying for owners. The clinical signs of OA in a young dog may be vague and intermittent, and owners may struggle to take in the information you give them. The concern of not finding anything significant, losing client confidence, and spending client money ineffectively may cloud our judgement when deciding what to do. This lecture will cover the statistics relating to OA in younger dogs, common owner perceptions and fears about the diagnosis at that age, and we will cover some tips for how to make the initial consultation go as well as possible.
