Russell graduated from the University of Bristol Veterinary School. He has gained the following post-graduate qualifications: RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedics, MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Orthopaedics, and MSc in Stem Cells and Regeneration.
Russell spent four years working in Hong Kong where he established the territory’s first orthopaedic- and spinal surgery service. He then started Alphavet Veterinary Centre and Alphavet Referrals in South Wales, which he ran for more than two decades. Russell continued as a referral surgeon at Alphavet Referrals for six further years. In January 2024 he relocated to Singapore where he provides a surgical referral service at Mount Pleasant Veterinary Centre.

dr. cameron black
Graduated 2008 from University of Glasgow and, following 4 years in general practice, he pursued an interest in stem cell research and innovation at the University of Edinburgh. He then joined the Bone and Joint Research group in Southampton as a PhD student and later as Veterinary Fellow, working within the field of bone tissue engineering - translating bench-top science into clinical application. Cameron then joined Fitzpatrick Referrals Orthopeadic and Neurology, helping establish and operate the osteoarthritis and regenerative medicine service, delivering a OneHealth-centric treatment model within the discipline of regenerative sciences.
Currently Cameron is enjoying helping to share his experiences in the field of regenerative medicine, valuing the importance of open discussion at all levels of practice. Ongoing areas of research interest focus on enhancing the therapeutic effect of MSC populations; prospective stem cell isolation, secretome enhancing culture techniques, and moving toward hybrid material-cell constructs in the clinical environment.
